- 1 kg (2 1/5 lb) green apple
- 1 kg (2 1/5 lb) red bilberry
- 600 g (2 1/5 lb) sugar
- 3 l (liter) of water
Wash red bilberries thoroughly and dry them. Wash apples, cut each one into 7-8 slices.
Pour water in a large saucepan, bring it to boil, then add sugar and boil gently until the sugar is dissolved. Next put the sliced apples in the pan. Simmer the fruits over medium heat (until soft) for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously. Then add red bilberries and boil the compote till the berries become translucent. Remove the pan from the heat and let the fruit kompot cool to room temperature.
If you want to enjoy this kompot in winter then pour it in the sterilized jars just after boiling. Cork up the jars hermetically and the vitaminized drink is ready.
