Chicken and vegetable kulebyaka

Kulebyaka is a traditional pie cooked of yeast-containing dough. It is usually served with a meat broth. This chicken and vegetable kulebyaka is nourishing and rich. All your family members will like it.

Ingredients:

Dough

  • 300 g (0,66 lb) flour
  • 130 ml milk
  • 60 g (0,13 lb) dairy butter
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 7 g (0,02 lb) yeast
  • salt – to taste

Filling

  • 400 g (0,88 lb) minced meat (chicken)
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 70 g (0,15 lb) bulb onion
  • 7 tbsp vegetable oil
  • salt – to taste
  • ground black pepper – to taste
  • 1 egg

Cooking

Dissolve yeast with warm milk. Next add flour, melted dairy butter, salt and sugar. Mix the ingredients and knead dough. Then cover the dough with a plastic food wrap or a cotton napkin. Put the dough in a warm place for 20 minutes. Then knead it again and leave for 30 minutes.

Peel bulb onions and chop them. Wash bell peppers, cut the pedicles and remove the seeds. Slice the peppers. Preheat a frying pan. Then combine the vegetables and fry them on vegetable oil about 3-4 minutes. After add minced meat and cook the filling for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Stir everything and turn off the fire.

Flour a work surface. Take the dough and roll it out into circle. The layer thickness should be 5-7 mm. Put the prepared stuffing in a center. Fold the dough over to cover the mixture and crimp the edges using a fork. If you have some extra dough, then you can decorate the pie. Transfer it to the baking sheet covered with parchment paper and brush the pie with an egg. Bake it at 180°C (356°F) for 40 minutes or until golden and puffed. Let the pie cool 10 minutes before serving.
