- 1 kg of oranges
- 1.5 kg of sugar
- 2 glasses of water
Wash oranges and dry them on a paper towel. Cut them into small pieces (don't peel the oranges). Remove the stones. Put sugar in a pan, pour water above and cook the mixture over medium heat. Bring the water to boil and add oranges. Scum the syrup from time to time. Boil the marmalade for 2 hours. Do not cover the pan with a lid.
Then cool the orange marmalade a little and pour it in jars. You can cork up the jars and eat the marmalade in winter or you may serve the jam at once.
Enjoy your meal!
Tip! If you want to check whether the marmalade is done or not – pour some jam on a saucer. The cooked preserve should not spread out.
In order to keep fresh your preserve for a long period, take parchment paper and cut out a circle (its diameter should match the diameter of a jar lid). Place the parchement circle above the jar and then put the lid above.
