Patties with Apples

Do you want to surprise your guest with a tasty Ukrainian dish? Ta da! Here is the recipe of golden color and fluffy patties with luscious apple filling.

Such a dessert will definitely become the star of your table.

Following this recipe you’ll get amazingly soft, tender, and flavorful patties.

You’ll not even notice how all the patties will be eaten and your inmates will ask you to cook one more portion.

Ingredients:

Dough

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dry yeast
  • 3,5 cup of flour
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of warm water

Filling

  • 4 apples
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Cooking

Sift flour and combine it with dry yeast. Add vegetable oil, sugar, and salt. Mix everything carefully. Then add warm water gradually and knead dough. Grease your hands with vegetable oil and shape the dough in the form of a ball. Place the dough in a deep bowl or pan. Cover the dough with a napkin and put it in a warm place for 1 – 1,5 hours to let the dough rise.

Wash apples, peel and dice them. Combine the apples with sugar. Set aside for a while. Then pour out the appearing juice.

Place the dough on a floured surface. Divide the dough into equal pieces. Roll each piece of the dough and put the apple filling in the center. Fold the dough over to cover the stuffing and crimp the edges.

Arrange the patties on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. Set aside the patties for 20 minutes. Grease the top of the patties with vegetable oil and dredge with sugar.

Preheat an oven to 190°C (374°F) and bake the patties for 25 minutes until golden.
