Roasted Potatoes in Tomato Sauce

im30_9259Today we are going to cook oven roasted potatoes with tomato sauce and stewed onion under melted cheesy topping. A delicious flavor to our dish will impart caraway seeds, garlic, and red ground pepper. The combination of these spices will perfectly match our baked potatoes in tomato paste.

Ingredients:

  • 3 potatoes
  • 1 bulb onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) cheese
  • olive oil (for greasing)
  • 400 g (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • red ground pepper – to taste
  • caraway seeds – to taste

Cooking

Peel potatoes and chop them finely. Grease a baking tray with olive oil. Place some potatoes there. Then pour olive oil above.

Peel a bulb onion and chop it. Preheat olive oil in a frying pan and stew it slightly. Transfer the onion to the tray. Pour some tomato paste above. Add squeezed garlic and caraway seeds. Then place some potato above. You should use all the ingredients arranging them into the layers. The last layer should be potato. Top everything with grated cheese and red ground pepper. Bake the dish at 180°C (356°F) for 30 minutes.
