Shortbread Rings Topped with Peanuts

Treat your family members with luscious shortbread rings topped with browned peanuts. It is an experience to savor. It is something so simple yet so necessary in our daily life.

These cookies will become a wonderful solution to serve with a cup of milky coffee or herbal tea. Delivering an amazing flavor thanks to peanuts, these cookies are spectacular! Try to cook them and you’ll know it yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2,5 tsp leaven
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) peanuts
  • 200 g (7 oz) dairy butter

Cooking

Soften butter and combine it with flour and leaven. Mix everything carefully. Beat eggs with sugar. Combine the egg and butter mass together and knead the dough. Place the dough in a fridge for 1 hour. Roll the dough into walnut-size balls. Then roll each ball into a 5-inch rope. Form each rope into a 2-inch circle crimping ends tightly.

Transfer the rings to a baking tray greased with dairy butter. Grease them with an egg and top with browned and chopped peanuts. Bake the rings at 200°C (392°F) until done, for 20-25 minutes.
