Stewed pork with vegetables

201.GHIVECI_RNESCStewed pork with vegetables is an old good idea for a tasty supper. You can cook meat and side altogether. As the result the combination of tender meat, healthy vegetable side and thick sauce makes our mouth watered. By the way the process of pork stewing is easy and everybody can do it.

Ingredients:

  • 600 g (1,32 lb) pork
  • 5-6 potatoes
  • 2 vegetable marrows
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1-2 celery roots
  • 4 bulb onions
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 glasses of meat broth
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • a bay leaf
  • some black peppercorns
  • a couple of mint twigs
  • salt – to taste

Cooking

Cut pork into medium pieces and stir-fry the pork cubes until their surface is brown. Peel potatoes, vegetable marrows, carrots, celery roots and tomatoes. Dice all the vegetables. Peel and chop the bulb onions. Sauté the onions.

Take marmits and place the meat and vegetables inside. Next add salt, pepper and a bay leaf in each pot. Pour everything with a meat broth, cover the lids and place the marmits in an oven. Bake the dish for 1,5 – 2 hours. In 10-15 minutes before the end of baking add peeled and squeezed garlic, sprinkle the ingredients with lemon juice.

Serve the dish hot.
