Turkey Stew with Root Vegetables

Today we are going to prepare a comforting and hearty turkey stew with root vegetables. This warming and filling dish hits the spot on chilly and cold autumn days. The pieces of turkey are browned and slightly spiced to develop their delicious flavor. Bell peppers and onions are added towards the end of cooking to keep their character bright. The combination of thyme, paprika, black ground pepper, and fresh parsley complements the flavor of all the ingredients. This rich stew is definitely worth trying.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 2 bulb onions
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp dairy butter
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 500 g (1,1 lb) turkey
  • 700 g (1,5 lb) potato
  • 3 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp black ground pepper

Cooking

Wash turkey thoroughly and dry it. Cut the meat into medium pieces. Preheat vegetable oil in a big frying pan. Add dairy butter. Then put the meat in the pan and stew it over medium heat until crisp. Adjust salt and pepper to your taste.

Peel, wash, and cube potatoes. Add them to the pan. Stir the mass and continue to fry. Peel bulb onions and chop them. Wash and slice bell peppers. Add the onion and pepper to the pan in 10 minutes. Continue to fry the ingredients.

Peel garlic cloves and squeeze them. Add the garlic, thyme, and paprika. Mix everything and cook until done. Top the dish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
