Beef chop with sweet bulb onion

Cook beef chop with sweet bulb onion. When the onion is sautéed with sugar it becomes sweet and brown. Such onion is considered to be an appetizing garnish for meat. Your family members will eat the dish with pleasure, even those who don’t like onion.


  • 4 medium sweet bulb onions
  • 2 tbsp dairy butter
  • 1 tbsp olive / vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 750 g (1,65 lb) beef
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 glass of beef or chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 200 g sour cream


Peel bulb onions and cut them into semi-circles. Peel and squeeze garlic. Heat dairy butter and oil in a medium pan. Place the onion and garlic there. Saute the ingredients for 5 minutes stirring them continuously. Add sugar and continue to fry. Then pour beef or chicken broth and bring the liquid to boil. Reduce the fire, put aside the lid and stew the mass for 15 minutes. Stir the ingredients from time to time. Salt and pepper them.

Cover a roasting pan with foil. Cut beef into rather big pieces. Chop the meat and place it in the roasting pan and pour sour cream above. Then add salt and pepper. Bake the meat in the oven until done.

Serve the beef chop with the prepared garnish.
