Cottage Cheese Roll with Apple Stuffing

The main peculiarity of this sweet roll is its lightness and unearthly taste. As a basic component for the dough we will use cottage cheese and as filling ingredients – apples which make a perfect combination with curd crust. You can bake such a roll if you keep a healthy lifestyle and want to treat yourself with something tasty and not very caloric. This airy roll with tender stuffing will not leave cold any of your guests as well. Ingredients:

  • 3 apples
  • 2 tbsp kefir
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1 – 1,5 cup flour
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) dairy butter
  • 500 g (1,1 lb) cottage cheese
  • powdered sugar (for topping)
  • salt – to taste

Cooking

Grind cottage cheese and melted dairy butter. Add flour, soda, salt, and kefir. Mix the ingredients and knead the dough. Refrigerate it for 40 minutes. Divide the dough into 4 parts. Roll out each part separately.

Wash, peel and slice apples thinly. Place the apples above the dough and roll it. Repeat the procedure till you use all parts of the cooked dough. Transfer the prepared rolls onto a baking tray greased with dairy butter. Bake the rolls until golden and puffed. Then cool them a little, top with powdered sugar, slice into portions and serve.
