Fish solianka with smoked hunchback salmon

Solianka is a spicy soup of vegetables and fish. Fish solianka is very nutritious and has savoury taste.


  • 2 hunchback salmon fillets
  • 1.5 l (liter) of fish broth
  • 2 pickled cucumbers
  • 4 bulb onions
  • 2 tbsp of tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp of dairy butter
  • 3 tbsp of capers with pickle
  • 16 black olives
  • 8-10 black eyed peas
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 of lemon
  • 3 tbsp of sour cream
  • 1 bundle of parsley


Cut hunchback salmon into pieces. Peel and slice bulb onion. Fry it on the sunflower oil. Add tomato sauce and fry 10 minutes more. Peel and cube cucumbers. Bring to boil fish broth. Add cucumbers, onion, and capers with pickle to the broth. Boil it over low heat for 20 minutes. Ten minutes before the end of boiling add hunchback salmon, black eyed peas, and bay leaves. Dress solyanka with sour cream and powder it with cut parsley. Decorate the dish with a slice of lemon and olives.
