Green borsch

It is a traditional Ukrainian dish which Ukrainians like to eat very much. Do taste green borsch and you will enjoy it!


  • 500 g pork
  • 1 beetroot
  • 5 potatoes
  • 500 g sorrel
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 bulb onions
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 3 boiled eggs
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • bay leaf
  • spring onion
  • dill / parsley
  • salt – to taste
  • black ground pepper – to taste


Boil pork. Cut it into pieces. Filter the broth. Slice the beetroot. Sprinkle it with vinegar, add sugar and some broth. Stew the beetroot. Peel and grate carrots. Peel and slice bulb onions. Fry bulb onions and carrots. Place potato in the boiling broth and cook it for 10 minutes. Then add beetroot, carrots, bulb onions, cut sorrel, black ground pepper, bay leaf, cut boiled eggs, and salt. Mix everything properly and boil green borsch.
