Herring stewed in sour cream


  • 3 fresh frozen herrings
  • 100 g sour cream
  • 50 g tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • dill
  • salt – to taste
  • black ground pepper – to taste


Slice the herrings along (into two parts). Remove the fishbones and the backbones. Rub the fish with salt and pepper. Place it in a deep stewing pan, pour with sour cream and tomato sauce. Stew the herrings for 15 minutes. Add finely cut dill and spring onion; cut and boiled egg and stew for 5 minutes more.
