Pear, cherry, plum, and red bilberry kompot

Boil with us this delicious pear, cherry, plum, and red bilberry kompot. The homemade drink is very easy to cook and in addition you don’t need too many ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg (2 1/5 lb) pear
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) plum
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) cherry
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) red bilberry
  • 100 g sugar
  • a pinch of citric acid

Cooking

Wash all necessary fruits thoroughly. Cut the plums in half and remove the stones. Peel the pears, remove the cores and cut them in quarters. Pour water in a pan, bring it to boil, add sugar and boil till the sugar dissolves. Place the prepared fruits together with cherries and red bilberries in a glass jar and pour them with the prepared sugar syrup carefully. Mix everything and set aside for around half an hour. Then pour the syrup in a separate pan and simmer it again. Add the syrup to the fruits again. Cover the lid and let the kompot cool and infuse.

Drink the fruit kompot warm, or cooled down to room temperature or chilled – whatever you prefer. You can even serve the used fruits (top them with powdered sugar before eating).
