Roasted becon recipePocherevyna – salo with meat layers baked in an oven.


  • 500 g of pocherevyna (pork belly bacon)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 carrot
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • broth
  • salt - to taste
  • black ground pepper - to taste
  • red ground pepper - to taste


Take pocherevyna, rub it with salt, red or black ground pepper (you may use both: red and black ground pepper).

Make notches with a knife and put there little pieces of a garlic (1/4 part of a clove). Then sew with thick threads the notches.

Put pocherevyna in a heat-resistant roasting pan with high sides. Pocherevyna should lay on the skin.

Wash, peel and slice a carrot. Put the vegetable in the roasting pan and add one bay leaf. Pour some boiled water or broth above the ingredients. In that way pocherevyna will not be burnt and the skin will become soft. Put pocherevyna in the oven and bake until brown. Sprinkle it with water or broth from time to time.

In 20 minutes your will feel an incredibly tasty smell. I assure you that your neighbors will lick chops.
