Pork and vegetable stew

article1898We recommend the recipe for toothsome pork, potato, carrot, red beans, and onion stew. This nourishinh dish in pots should be served right off the stove.


  • 600 g (1,32 lb) potato
  • 600 g (1,32 lb) pork
  • 150 g (0,33 lb) red beans
  • 100 g (0,22 lb) bulb onion
  • 100 g (0,22 lb) carrot
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 2 bay-leaves
  • 3 black peppercorns
  • ground black pepper – to taste
  • ground red pepper – to taste
  • salt – to taste
  • lettuce leaves


Soak red beans in water for a night. Then boil them. Wash meat and cut it into medium pieces. Fry the pork on sunflower oil for 20-25 minutes. Salt and pepper the meat.

Peel potatoes and cut into pieces equal to the pork pieces. Brown the potato for 15 minutes and salt it.

Peel bulb onions and chop them. Peel and grate carrots. Saute the vegetables till they get golden color.

Fry flour in a dry frying pan without adding oil until the flour gets a light brown color.

Cool the flour and combine it with 1/2 glass of water. Place the meat and potato in pots and pour the ingredients with water in order to cover them completely. Put the pots in an oven and bring the mass to boil. Add the prepared red beans, onion and carrot in 5-10 minutes. Next put tomato paste and the flour combined with water. Peel and grate garlic. Put it in the pots and bring the mass to boil.

After removing the pots form the oven, top the stew with chopped lettuce leaves and serve.
