Potato soup with mutton and peas


Try this amazing potato soup with peas, mutton, and bulb onion. It is enough nourishing to feed all your family members.


  • 400 g (0,88 lb) mutton
  • 500 g (1,1 lb) potato
  • 80 g (0,18 lb) peas
  • 80 g (0,18 lb) salo / lard
  • 60 g (0,13 lb) bulb onion
  • 4-5 tomatoes / 40 g (0,09 lb) tomato pulp
  • ginger – to taste
  • ground black pepper – to taste
  • salt – to taste


Soak peas in water for 8-10 hours. You can boil the peas for 1 – 1,5 hour alternatively.

Wash mutton, cut it into medium pieces and boil the meat together with the prepared peas. Cook the ingredients for 30-40 minutes.

Peel and chop a bulb onion, add it to the soup. Cut salo / lard finely and place it in the pan with soup. Next add peeled and diced potatoes.

Cut tomatoes into slices and add them in 20 minutes before the end of boiling. You can substitute the vegetables with tomato pulp. Season the potato soup with ginger, pepper and salt. Stir the ingredients and serve the soup.
