Pumpkin compote


  • 1 kg of pumpkin
  • 4 g of citric acid
  • 1 l (liter) of water
  • 500 g of sugar


Peel pumpkin, remove the seeds. Cube the vegetable and blanch it in the hot sugar syrup (500 g sugar – 1 l of water) for 5-6 minutes. Then place pumpkin cubes in a pan. Add sugar to the syrup and bring it to boil. Then add citric acid and pour with it the pumpkin. Sterilize the jars: half-litre jars – 15 minutes, litre jars – 25 minutes.
