Pumpkin porridge with apples and raisins

Pumpkin porridge is considered to be one of the healthiest ones. That’s why it should be on the list of your menu. This pumpkin porridge with fruits and cinnamon is tasty and soft and contains the ingredients full of vitamins and minerals. By the way cinnamon gives the dish an adorable flavour.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g (0.66 lb) pumpkin
  • 220 g (0.49 lb) millet
  • 220 ml milk
  • 2 apples
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 50 g (0.11 lb) dairy butter
  • 50 g (0.11 lb) raisins
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • dairy butter (for greasing)

Cooking

Peel pumpkin and remove the seeds. Cut the vegetable into slices with 2 cm breadth each. Place the pumpkin in a roasting pan greased with dairy butter and bake it at 160°C (320°F) for 15 minutes. Peel apples and chop them. Add the fruits to the roasting pan and bake the ingredients together till done.

Wash millet under flowing water 2-3 times. Then place the millet in a pan and pour boiling water above. Leave for 5 minutes, then pour out the water and soak the millet in boiling water for the second time.

Pour milk in a separate bowl. Preheat the milk.

Place the pumpkin with apples and pour the hot milk in the pan with millet. Mix the ingredients and boil them for 10 minutes. Remove the porridge from heat. Then add sugar, raisins, cinnamon, and dairy butter. Stir everything properly. Wrap a towel around the pan and leave it for 10-15 minutes.
