Carrot flapjacks


  • 1 egg
  • 5 carrots
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • sour cream (for serving)
  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • salt – to taste


Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Peel and grate carrot finely. Combine the dissolved yeast, carrot and salt. Mix the ingredients properly and stir in flour gradually. Then add egg, mix everything again and leave the mass in a warm place for some time.

Preheat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add 1 tablespoon of the batter to the pan. Flatten slightly. Fry the pancakes on both sides until golden and cooked through. Repeat the procedure till you use the whole batter.

Serve the pancakes with sour cream.
