Cherry juice is considered to be a traditional drink in the Ukrainian cuisine.
- 500 g (1 lb) sour cherries
- 175 ml water
- sugar – to taste
Wash cherries thoroughly. Remove the stones. Then squeeze berries with the help of a wooden pestle in a pan. Add water (1 glass of water – for 1 kg of berries). Bring to boil the drink and cook it for 5 minutes. Then squeeze cherries again. Bring to boil the drink anew. Repeat the procedure one more time. Add sugar after third squeezing.
