Walnut cake with chocolate icing

This bakery is so yummy that you will not resist such a temptation. Only imagine tender crusts under chocolate icing in combination with the crunchiness of walnuts. Your family will definitely evaluate this chocolaty sweet course.

Ingredients:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp walnuts
  • 1 tsp dairy butter
  • 6 tbsp chopped nuts
  • 1 tbsp chopped rusks
  • 1/2 tbsp coffee/ cocoa

Icing

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 1 tsp coffee
  • 2 tbps milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp chopped chocolate
  • 125 g (1/2 cup) dairy butter

Cooking

Rub yolks with sugar thoroughly. Peel half of a lemon and squeeze it. Whip the whites of the egg. Toss the yolks and chopped nuts, rusks, coffee or cocoa, whipped whites, lemon juice and zest together. Add all ingredients gradually. Mix them well.

Grease a baking dish with dairy butter and coat with flour. Pour the prepared dough there and bake the cake over medium heat. Check whether the bakery is ready or not by the help of a toothpick.

Icing

Heat milk and melt chocolate there. Whip dairy butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar, yolks, coffee, chocolate and rum. Stir the ingredients properly.

Transfer the cake to a platter and pour the prepared cream above. Decorate the dessert with walnut halves and set aside to let the cake soak. Then cut the cake into portions and serve.
