Walnut Cake

Let’s cook a nut teacake. Although the recipe is simple, the baked cake itself is very rich and delicious. The most important thing which you need to do is to beat dairy butter and sugar properly. Even those who don’t have much experience in baking cakes will manage to cook this dessert.

This cake is a perfect solution for those who enjoy a tea party and like to treat guests or family with something tasty. You may also serve this cake with coffee for a breakfast. You can eat it with dairy butter, jam or sour cream, choose depending on your tastes. If you don’t like walnuts or simply can’t buy them, use hazelnuts.


  • 4 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of soda
  • 500 g (1,1 lb) walnuts
  • a pinch of orange essence
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) dairy butter
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) sugar/ powdered sugar


Peel walnuts and fry them till golden color. Then mince the walnuts carefully or you may pulverize them in a food processor. Place the mass on a baking sheet and dry it in an oven for a while.

Beat egg with sugar until creamy. Then add melted dairy butter and mix everything properly. Combine the prepared mass with the nut mixture, orange essence, salt and soda. Mix the ingredients until smooth. Transfer the prepared dough into a baking sheet greased with dairy butter beforehand. Bake the cake at a medium temperature until it is nicely browned. Cool the cake for some time, top it with powdered sugar and serve.
