Chocolate Prunes with Surprise Inside

I am glad to share the recipe of this amazing dessert which you can cook beforehand and serve your guests as edible presents during New Year parties. You can even decorate your New Year tree with these ‘homemade candies.’

Delicious prunes coated in a thin layer of crunchy dark chocolate will wow anybody who tries them. However this dessert is not just chocolate prunes. The surprise lies in their interesting and unusual filling. The filling includes the combination of pumpkin, carrot, walnuts, cookies, and coffee. It not only sounds attractive but also tastes deliciously addicting.

Ingredients:

  • 1 carrot
  • 10 walnuts
  • 3 tbsp coffee
  • 3 tbsp of cookies
  • 200 g (7 oz) prunes
  • 70 g (2,5 oz) pumpkin
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) black chocolate

Cooking

Chop walnuts finely. Peel a carrot and pumpkin. Wash and grate them. Add the nuts. Place the ingredients in a pan. Pour coffee above and cook the mass over low heat for 5-7 minutes. Stir everything continuously.

Then add finely cut cookies. Make cuts in each prune. Stuff the prunes with the prepared filling.

Melt chocolate in a bain marie. Use a cocktail stick to pick up each prune and coat it in chocolate. Set aside the prunes until the chocolate sets.
