Chocolate Pancakes with Red Currants

If you don’t know what romantic dessert to cook, then this recipe will come you in handy. I’ll tell you about an easy way to turn usual pancakes into a delectable dessert for a St. Valentine’s evening.

Cocoa mix gives a chocolate kick to the pancakes, both inside and on top. Teamed with red currants they get a piquant note. These chocolate pancakes are perfect to indulge in some sweetness.

These pancakes taste great by themselves but you may also top them with your favorite syrup or jam.

Ingredients:

  • 75 ml milk
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 chicken eggs
  • 120 g (4 oz) flour
  • 120 g (4 oz) sugar
  • 75 ml vegetable oil
  • 150 g (5 oz) red currants
  • vanillin – to taste

Cooking

Combine flour, cocoa, and sugar in a bowl. Stir the ingredients carefully. Preheat milk to room temperature. Pour the milk in the bowl. Then add eggs, vegetable oil, salt, and vanillin. Mix the mass again. Cool the prepared pancake batter in a fridge.

Preheat skillet and pour 2-3 tablespoons of the batter on the skillet. Fry the pancake. When bubbles appear on a surface, flip, and cook the other side of the pancake. Repeat the procedure till you use all the batter.

Place the red currants in the center of each pancake and roll it. Decorate the pancakes with some red currants before serving.
