Bacon Wrapped Roasted Turkey Breast

Today we offer you the recipe of a gorgeous meat dish. Rolling the turkey breast with bacon slices bastes the white meat with fat while infusing a special flavor. Plus, the melted slice of cheese inside the turkey roll will make it tender and soft. Baked green apples with onion will add a slightly sour taste to the whole dish. All this tasty treat we will bake under a savory sauce which includes mustard, honey, olive oil, salt, and pepper. As a result of such an unusual combination of the dish ingredients we will get a tasty meat course which will be evaluated by your guests. Most of them probably have never eaten this delicious turkey appetizer and will be surprised to the upside.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bulb onion
  • 4 green apples
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp dairy butter
  • 150 g (5 oz) cheese
  • 300 g (10,5 oz) bacon
  • 800 g (1,7 lb) turkey breast

Cooking

Wash apples, peel them and cut in halves. Then remove the seeds and slice the fruits. Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice. Cut cheese into long slices. Peel a bulb onion and chop it finely. Preheat dairy butter in a frying pan. Brown the onion slightly. Cool it and combine with the apples. Grease a baking tray with dairy butter and transfer the prepared mass there.

Combine mustard, honey, oil, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly. Set the cooked sauce aside for a while.

Cut turkey into long slices and beat them slightly. Place a piece of cheese above each meat slice and roll it up tightly.

Cut bacon into thin slices. Gently wrap 2 slices of the bacon around each piece of the turkey with cheese and fix with the help of a toothpick. Place them above the apples and onion. Pour everything with the prepared mustard-honey sauce.

Preheat an oven to 220°C (428°F) and bake for 30 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and lightly browned. Serve the dish immediately.
