Cheese Babka (Cheese Cake) with Red Currants

Babka is a sweet baked cottage cheese dessert.

Fluffy, soft, and tender, this cake is irresistible.

With the addition of red currants, this dessert is even tastier. Each slice of it will just melt in your mouth.

This cake is a good alternative for curd pudding.

Once baked, it will become one of your favorite desserts. Moreover, all of your family members will be surprised with your culinary abilities.

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 5 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp semolina
  • 150 g (5 oz) red currants
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) sour cream
  • 500 g (1,1 lb) cottage cheese

Cooking

Combine cottage cheese with sugar, eggs, sour cream, milk, and semolina. Mix the ingredients and whip the mass.

Grease a baking tray with dairy butter. Transfer half of the cheese mass to the tray.

Wash red currants thoroughly and add them above the cheese mass. Cover everything with the remaining cheese mass.

Put the cake in the preheated oven and bake at 190°C (374°F) for 20 minutes. Then bake the dessert at 160-170°C (320-338°F) for half an hour more.
