Piping hot from the oven this pie has amazing flavor. Under the golden puff pastry you will find tender perch, soft potatoes, and juicy onion. Everything is very simple but no less satisfying and delicious.
You can be creative with flavouring this dish. You may add of any of your favourite herbs.
- 400 g (14 oz) potato
- 150 g (5 oz) bulb onion
- 500 g (1,1 lb) puff pastry
- 200 g (7 oz) perch (boneless)
- black ground pepper – to taste
- salt – to taste
Cut perch into medium pieces. Rub the fish pieces with salt and pepper. Roll the puff pastry in the form of a rectangle with 5 mm thickness. Divide the puff pastry into two equal parts.
Wash, peel, and slice thinly potatoes. Arrange the potatoes above the puff pastry. Adjust salt and pepper to your taste. Then put the fish above the potato. Peel and chop bulb onions finely. Top the ingredients with the onion.
Cover the pie with the remaining pastry sheet and seal the edges by pressing them tightly together.
Grease a baking tray with dairy butter and place the pie there. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake the pie for 40-50 minutes.
