Fresh strawberry crunch cake

This strawberry pie with oatmeal crust looks mouth-watering delicious, but it tastes even better. Once your guests try this tart, they’ll go nuts over it! What really makes the pie is the flaky pie crust, which includes the combination of oat, corn, and coconut flakes. Topped with fresh, juicy strawberries, this cake becomes even more tempting. You’ll taste summer in every bite!

One more advantage of this tart is that it’s so easy to make. We’ll just combine flakes with honey and brown them in an oven for a quarter of an hour. Then we’ll grease the crust with the strawberry filling, decorate it with berries, and voila – the berry pie is done!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of honey
  • 1 cup of oat flakes
  • 1 1/3 cup of corn flakes
  • 1/2 cup of coconut flakes
  • vegetable oil (for greasing)

Filling

  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1 tbsp potato starch
  • 1/2 cup of strawberry purée
  • 300 g (10,5 oz) strawberries
  • sesame seeds – to taste

Cooking

Put corn flakes in a polythene bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Transfer the mass to a bowl and combine it with oat and coconut flakes. Mix the ingredients carefully and stir in honey.

Cover a round baking tray with baking paper and grease it with oil. Arrange the prepared mass evenly. Bake the crust in the preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 10-20 minutes.

Let’s make the filling while the crust is cooking. Combine strawberry puree, potato starch, and water in a pan. Cook the mass over medium heat until thick and then cool it.

Wash, dry, and slice strawberries.

Transfer the crust to a serving plate and grease it with the prepared filling. Top the pie with the strawberries and let it set in a fridge for 30-40 minutes.

Decorate our strawberry crisp pie with sesame seeds before serving.

Enjoy your meal!
