Baked chicken and potatoes with cheese

This dinner is easy-peasy but so delicious. Who would resist moist chicken meat, juicy onion, tender potato chunks under hot melted cheese? This cheesy, comforting dish is sure to make your mouth watering.


  • 2 bulbs of onion
  • 150 ml sour cream
  • 500 g (17,5 oz) potato
  • 300 g (10, oz) chicken
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) hard cheese
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt


Wash and peel potatoes. Then cut the potatoes into circles. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil. Put 1/3 of the potato at the bottom of the dish. Peel, wash, and cut the bulb onions into semi-circles. Spread half of the onion above the potato evenly. Sprinkle the ingredients with some salt and pepper.

Cube the chicken and put it above the potato with onion. Salt and pepper the meat. Arrange the remaining onion above the chicken. Top everything with the potato. Season the dish with salt and pepper. Grease the potato with sour cream thoroughly.

Cover the ingredients with aluminum foil and put the tray in the preheated oven (200°C/392°F). Bake the dish for half an hour. Meanwhile, grate the cheese.

In 5 minutes before the end of cooking uncover the dish and spread the grated cheese on top. Serve the dish hot.
