Ukrainian dish for Christmas – Carpathian dziama

Dziama – is a traditional Ukrainian dish which was usually cooked after Christmas. This recipe came to us from the ancient times.


  • 500 g pork
  • 50 g carrot
  • 100 g bulb onion
  • 50 g parsley
  • 25 g garlic
  • 100 g sweet pepper
  • 50 g flour
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 30 g vinegar
  • salt – to taste
  • black ground pepper – to taste


Wash pork, pour it with cold water and boil the meat over medium heat. Then add cut carrot, sliced bulb onion, chopped parsley, cut sweet pepper, salt, and garlic. Mix the ingredients thoroughly. Combine wheat flour, sour cream, and eggs. Knead the fluid dough. Pour it into the broth. Add vinegar and pepper at the end of the boiling.
