Dumplings with meat

It is impossible to conceive Ukrainian cuisine without dumplings. In Ukraine this dish is served as a separate course. Dumplings may have different fillings and they are usually poured with butter or sour cream before serving.


  • 2 glasses of wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 glass of milk / water
  • 2 tbsp of dairy butter
  • 100 g of meat
  • salt – to taste


Combine flour, eggs, salt, milk, and water. Knead dough. Roll it (the depth of layer should be 3-4 mm). Then cut the dough into squares (the size of each square is 15 х 15 mm). Boil them in salty water.

Put dumplings into colander and wait until the water flows down. Wash them in cold boiled water and place in a deep stewing pan. Add cut meat and dairy butter. Mix everything thoroughly and bake in the oven.

Serve with vegetables.
