Summer is in full play and the markets are packed with fresh berries and fruits. Don’t miss a chance to cook various dishes and enjoy the summer delicacy.
Today we are going to cook varenyky which are also known as filled dumplings. With the raspberry, blackberry, and wild strawberry stuffing, these varenyky are really delectable. Topped with sweet creamy sauce, they are even more tempting.
Plus, these are lazy varenyky, so their recipe is very easy and time-saving.
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp flour
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp semolina
- 1 tbsp coconut flakes
- 400 g (14 oz) cottage cheese
- 200 g (7 oz) raspberries
- 200 g (7 oz) blackberries
- 200 g (7 oz) wild strawberries
- 200 ml sour cream
- 150 g (5 oz) powdered sugar
Grate cottage cheese. Then add an egg, flour, semolina, sugar, and coconut flakes. Stir the ingredients thoroughly. Shape little balls from the mass.
Wash all berries carefully. Dip some berries into each ball. Preheat water, salt it, and put the prepared varenyky there. Boil them for 5 minutes.
Transfer the prepared varenyky to a plate. Combine sour cream with powdered sugar and top the varenyky with the sauce before serving.
