You can believe it or not but to cook this amazing sponge cake with vanilla you don’t need an oven. We are going to bake it in a multi-cooker. It’s an easy and time-consuming way of cooking. Just try and you’ll see for yourself what I am talking about.
Being baked in the multi-cooker this cake is awesomely light, tender, and full of spongy goodness.
This cake can be eaten on its own. However, in order to brighten its taste, you can also serve the dessert with fresh fruits, ice cream or some jam.
Ingredients:
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup of flour
- 2,5 cups of sugar
- a pinch of citric acid
- dairy butter (for greasing)
- semolina (for covering)
- vanilla sugar – to taste
Cooking
Take chilled eggs and separate yolks from whites. Combine the whites of eggs with citric acid and 1 cup of sugar. Whip the mass using a mixer until foamy and set it aside for a while.
Mix the yolks with the remaining sugar in a separate bowl. Beat the mass with the help of the mixer.
Combine the whites of eggs with the yolks carefully and stir using a wooden spoon. Sieve 1 cup of flour and after add it gradually, stirring the mass until fully blended. Then add vanilla sugar.
Grease the multi-cooker pan with preheated dairy butter and top the edges with semolina. Transfer the prepared batter into the pan using a ladle. Close the lid and open the steam valve.
Cook the sponge cake for about 30-40 minutes. Leave it in the multi-cooker for about 5 minutes. Then open the lid and let the cake cool down. Take out the cake and put it on a serving dish. If it’s difficult to take the pie out, then run a knife through the sides of the cake and then transfer it to a dish. Cut the sponge cake into pieces and serve it.
