Orange chocolate cupcakes with walnuts

Craving for something delicious and sweet? No need to compromise! I’ve prepared the great recipe for chocolate orange muffins and am ready to share with you. These homemade cupcakes are the ones that make the difference. They are extremely indulging and addictive. So, if you enjoy the combination of chocolate and orange, then this recipe is just what you need.

These muffins are super easy to bake, but they have the WOW factor. The orange adds them a rich, deep flavor, while crunchy walnuts make the cupcakes the perfect treat for entertaining. Topped with caramelized milk, the muffins are hard to resist!

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 orange
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 230 ml milk
  • a pinch of leaven
  • 3 tsbp orange zest
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) walnuts
  • 8,5 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) wheat flour
  • 1/2 tin of caramelized milk
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) brown sugar
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) dairy butter

Cooking

These simple chocolate cupcakes don’t require many ingredients and won’t take much of your time.

First of all we’ll combine dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls. Mix wheat flour, brown sugar, leaven, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir everything carefully.

Whisk together melted dairy butter, eggs, and milk in a separate bowl. Mix the mass. Now pour it above the dry mass and stir the ingredients until smooth.

Add orange zest to the mass. Cut an orange in half and squeeze the juice. Add the juice to the batter. Chop walnuts and add them.

Grease your cupcake pan with dairy butter and transfer the prepared batter there. Bake the cupcakes at 170°C (338°F) for about 40 minutes.

Let the cakes cool a little and then top them with caramelized milk.

The caramelized milk makes a great topping for a festive treat while bright orange slices greatly decorate the dessert giving it more appeal.
