This packed with vitamins guelder rose preserve will gladden the whole family during any tea-party. It is easy to cook and can be kept for a long time. Furthermore the guilder rose berries possess healing qualities. The guelder rose is used as a tonic and reducing agent. Its berries should be picked after the first frost because then they do not have the bitterish taste.
- 1 kg sugar
- 1 kg guilder rose berries
- 2 glasses of water
Wash the guilder rose berries. Then mince or pestle them. Place the berries in an enameled pan. Add sugar and water. Bring the mixture to boil and cook the jam until it boils down.
Pour the prepared jam in the dry warmed up jars. Cork up the jars hermetically and cool them.
