Apple Curd Pie

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1,5 cup flour
  • 2 kg (4,4 lb) apple
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) margarine
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream (125 ml)
  • 250 g (1/2 lb) curds/ cottage cheese
  • 1 white of the egg (for greasing)
  • powdered sugar (for serving)
  • vegetable oil (for greasing)
  • breadcrumbs – to taste


Grind curds with sugar and sour cream. Next add soda, sugar and eggs. Combine all the ingredients and add flour gradually. Knead the dough with soft consistency. Put more or less flour depending on the consistency of the prepared dough. Set it aside for a while.

Wash apples, peel them and chop finely. Dump the dough onto a surface dusted with flour. Divide it into 2 parts and roll out the dough. Grease a baking tray with vegetable oil and transfer the first pie shell. Arrange the apples above and top everything with breadcrumbs. Cover the pie with the second pie crust. Grease the pie with the white of the egg.

Place the pie in an oven and bake over medium heat for an hour. Then cool the apple curd pie, top it with powdered sugar and cut it into portions. Serve with tea or fruit juice!
