Baked mackerel

Mackerel – is a fat fish and it is easy to bake it. The fish is tastier if it is soaked with lemon juice.


  • 1 mackerel
  • 1/2 lemon
  • fish seasoning
  • salt – to taste
  • black ground pepper – to taste


Wash fish and scale it properly. You may cut off the head or leave it. Dress the mackerel with seasoning inside and outside. Then add salt and black ground pepper. Slice lemon. Put some slices in the fish and another around it. Cover the mackerel in the food film or plastic bag. Place the mackerel in the fridge for 0.5 – 2 hours for the pickling. Then take out the lemon slices. Leave 2-3 slices inside the fish. Cover the mackerel in the double layer of the foil and bake it for 40 minutes at 180°C.
