Carrot salad with nuts and onion

This light noncaloric salad with piquant dressing can be served with some meat or fish dish. The recipe is time-saving and easy. So, if you want to vary your everyday menu with some unusual vegetable salad, take note of this recipe.


  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1 glass raisins
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 glass walnuts
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 glass sour cream
  • 500 g (1,1 lb) carrots
  • 1 medium bulb onion
  • 2 tsp grated lemon zest
  • 1/4 tsp black ground pepper


Wash, peel and grate carrots. Peel a bulb onion and cut it into semi-circles. Combine sour cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, mustard, pepper and sugar. Stir the mixture well.

Peel walnuts and chop them. Rinse raisins carefully, pour them with boiling water and set aside for 15 minutes. After transfer the raisins to a colander and let the water drain. Combine the walnuts, raisins, onion and carrot and put in the bowl with the prepared sauce. Mix everything thoroughly.
