Oven-baked Creamy Potato with Tomatoes and Quail Eggs

Sometimes deciding what to cook for a dinner begins with the inspiration of just some simple ingredients. The recipe for this mouthwatering roasted potato is very simple with no cheese topping or onions, just potatoes, cream, and butter, with a bit of black ground pepper.

If you want to cook a Ukrainian dinner, then this recipe is just what you need. This comforting potato bake has a pronounced creamy taste and will be a great accompaniment to any meat or fish dish.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tomatoes
  • 3 quail eggs
  • 700 ml cream
  • 1,5 kg (3,3 lb) potato
  • lettuce leaves – to taste
  • 100 g (3,5 oz) dairy butter
  • black ground pepper – to taste
  • salt – to taste

Cooking

Wash, peel, and dice potatoes. Grease a baking tray with dairy butter and arrange the potato there. Season the potato with salt and black ground pepper. Pour cream above. Bake the dish in the preheated oven at 180-200°C (356-392°F) for 1,5 hours in an oven.

Wash quail eggs and boil them. Rinse tomatoes and lettuce leaves. Transfer the baked potato to a serving plate. Serve the potato with the tomatoes, lettuce leaves, and quail eggs.
