Pork and varenyky with cabbage filling in pots always have an excellent taste and appetizing flavor. Therewith the most important thing is to place all the ingredients in the pots in time. Then you only wait when you can take a savoury and delicious dish from the oven and treat the family or guests.
Ingredients:
- 600 g (1,32 lb) pork
- 5 bulb onions
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3/4 glass of meat broth
- 4-5 cloves of garlic
- 1 tbsp chopped dill
- a bay leaf
- ground black pepper – to taste
- salt – to taste
Dough
- 1 1/2 glass of wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 glass of water
- salt – to taste
Varenyky filling
- 1/3 cabbage
- 3 bulb onions
- 2 eggs
- salt – to taste
- ground black pepper – to taste
Cooking
Varenyky filling
Wash and chop cabbage. Peel and cut onions finely. Fry the ingredients till done. Boil, peel and dice eggs. Combine all the prepared ingredients. Salt and pepper them. Mix everything.
Dough
Combine flour, egg, water and salt. Knead dough. Leave it for 30 minutes. Roll the dough with layer thickness 1,5 mm. Cut it into squares. Place the prepared filling above each square. Join the edges. Place varenyky in salted boiling water and cook them till done.
Cut meat into medium pieces. Then chop them slightly and grate with salt and pepper. Fry the pork on both sides. Peel and cut bulb onions into semi-circles. Brown the onion slightly. Place the meat with onion in a pan and put the pan in an oven for 10-15 minutes in order to stew the mass. Then transfer the ingredients to the pots. Put the prepared varenyky above. Pour everything with sauce where the meat was stewed. Add peeled and squeezed garlic, bay leaf and dill. Cover the pots with lids and place them in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
