Roasted Open-Face Sandwiches

Here is one of the easiest and tastiest recipes for a quick appetizer to serve your guests or relatives at some weekend party.

Enjoy hot and hearty sandwiches for lunch.

Crisp bread slices are roasted until brown under a flavorful topping. There is a great interplay of flavors here, the sweetness of carrots, spiciness of garlic, and neutrality of processed cheese.

Ingredients:

  • 2 big carrots
  • 1 loaf of bread
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 150 ml sour cream
  • olive oil (for greasing)
  • 300 g (10,5 oz) processed cheese
  • black ground pepper – to taste
  • salt – to taste

Cooking

Wash carrots and grate them finely. Peel garlic cloves and squeeze the garlic. Combine the carrots with garlic. Grate processed cheese. Add the carrot with garlic. Mix the mass with sour cream. Adjust salt and pepper to your taste. Stir everything carefully.

Slice the loaf of bread. Place a portion of the prepared filling on each bread slice. Arrange the piled-up open sandwiches on a baking tray greased with olive oil and put in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F). Bake the sandwiches for 20 minutes. As soon as they become crispy and golden, serve them immediately.

Enjoy your meal!
