Roasted potato with pork

If you wonder what to cook for a family supper and you have only potato, onion and some meat in your kitchen, then the quickest and simplest way would be a meat and potato stew. This recipe of juicy pork and flavorful potato can become a good solution to diversify your everyday meal.


  • 1 carrot
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 bulb onion
  • 200 g (7 oz) pork
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 100 g (1/2 cup) hard cheese
  • sweet marjoram – to taste
  • salt – to taste


Wash pork, slice it and fry in vegetable oil a little. Peel, rinse and slice potatoes thinly. Peel a carrot and an onion, then cut them into circles. Grease a baking tray with vegetable oil, place some amount of the potatoes and vegetables there. Put the sliced pork above. Cover everything with the remaining potatoes, onion and carrot.

Top the dish with sweet marjoram and salt. Grease it with sour cream and add grated cheese at the top.

Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake the dish at 200°C (392° F). Roast the ingredients until cooked through. After cut the dish into portions and serve hot.
