Vertuta with apples

Do you need to cook quick and nice pie? Such situation happens, when you have unexpected guests. There is a solution - vertuta with apples. This is a traditional Ukrainian dish, which is cooked of simple products. You can also replace apples with apricots, cherries, and other fruit.

This apple pie with cinnamon is very tasty and sweet bakery in the form of a roll. You can serve the vertuta with any jam you like.


  • 500 g of flour
  • 200 ml of water
  • 10 g of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g of sunflower oil


  • 500 g of apples
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 3 g of cinnamon
  • 50 g of rusks
  • 1 egg
  • 30 g of caster sugar


Knead mobile dough through combining of flour, water, salt and eggs. Cover the dough with a napkin and put in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Then add 125 g of sunflower oil to the dough and divide it into 2 parts. Roll each part of the dough. They should be very thin - no more than 1 cm. Wait until dough dry a little.

Wash apples and cut them into small pieces. Powder apples with sugar, cinnamon, rusks and lay them out in the centre of the first dough layer. Then put the second layer above. Twist dough in the strip. And then wrap in the form of snail.

Grease vertuta with egg and put in an oven.

When it is done, powder vertuta with caster sugar.
