Poppy seed shortcakes

  • 2 glasses wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g dairy butter
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 glass poppy seeds
  • 1/2 glass honey
  • 1 glass water

Combine flour, eggs, dairy butter, soda, sugar, and salt. Knead the pastry and roll it (the breadth of the layer should be – 0.5 cm). Place baking paper on the baking pan. Cut the pastry into squares / triangles, etc. Bake them until the shortcakes get golden color.

Pour poppy seeds with boiling water. Wait until they swell. Pour out the water. Dry the poppy seeds, then grind them in a ceramic or porcelain dish. Add one tsp of water by one until you get poppy milk. Then add sugar or honey and dissolve the mass with some water.

Cool baked shortcakes and pour them with the cooked sauce.

Enjoy your meal!
