Marinated shpykachky

Shpykachky – are thick, short sausages with a pieces of salo or salt pork. This sausage appetizer with marinated vegetables will definitely surprise all your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1 big sweet pepper
  • 4 chilli peppers
  • 4 medium bulb onions
  • 4 soft-salted cucumbers
  • 1,5 kg pork shpykachky

Marinade:

  • 1,5 l (liter) of water
  • 3 glasses of table vinegar
  • 1,5 tsp black-eyed peas
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Cooking

Wash, peel and slice a sweet pepper. Wash chilli pepers and cut them in half. Peel bulb onions and cut them into semi-circles. Wash cucumbers and cut them into thin slices.

Marinade

Bring water to boil. Add table vinegar, spices, sunflower oil and sugar. Mix the ingredients and cool them.

Then peel each sausage. Cut them along. Stuff the sausages with onion, cucumber, sweet pepper and fix the filling with a help of a skewer.

Place shpykachky in a 5-liter jar (alternate them with the left vegetables). Pour the ingredients with marinade and place the jar in a cold place for 7-14 days.

When your guests come and you will be ready to surprise them, treat everybody with this unusual appetizer.
