Shepherd’s pie


  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 150 g of meat (pork, beef)
  • 1 tbsp of lard/ dairy butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 of bulb onion
  • 5 black pepper peas
  • 1 tbsp of breadcrumbs
  • parsley – to taste


Wash meat, remove the bones. Cube and stew the meat. Then mince it, add chopped and slightly browned onion, pepper, and salt. Mix everything properly.

Grease a deep stewing pan with lard or dairy butter and powder it with breadcrumbs. Peel and slice potatoes. Then place half of the potatoes in the stewing pan. Arrange the minced meat above and cover everything with the remaining potatoes. Grease the mass with a raw egg, powder with breadcrumbs and place in an oven. Bake the dish until golden and crisp.

Decorate the pie with parsley before serving.
