We propose you a delicious recipe for a dinner which is rather savory and nourishing at the same time. If you don’t have much time to cook and want to treat yourself with something tasty – try this marinated herring with new potatoes.
- 100 g (0,22 lb) marinated herring
- 100 g (0,22 lb) new potatoes
- 50 g (0,11 lb) red onion
- 20 g (0,04 lb) dairy butter
- 20 ml vegetable oil
- 5 ml vinegar
- 5 g (0,01 lb) sugar
- 5 g (0,01 lb) dill
- 5 g (0,01 lb) spring onion
- a bay leaf
- salt – to taste
- ground black pepper – to taste
Wash potatoes and place in a pan with hot water. Add a bay leaf, dill and salt. Stir everything and boil potatoes till soft. Cool the potatoes, then peel them and cut into medium sized slices.
Peel the onions and cut them into circles. Combine salt, sugar, vinegar and sunflower oil in a bowl. Stir everything and place the onion there. Marinate it for 15-20 minutes.
Brown the boiled potatoes on dairy butter a little. Cut the marinated herring into slices and place together with potato on a plate. Top the dish with marinated onion and dill twigs.
