A traditional vinegret contains beetroot, carrot, potato and pickled cucumbers as the main ingredients. Let’s vary this popular dish and cook it in an unusual way. We will add calamari. Are you surprised? You should try this salad.
The calamari have a rich taste, useful and nourishing components. They contain many proteins, polyunsaturated fat and such vitamins as C, E, PP, B6. The white meat of calamari is considered to be dietetic and doesn’t contain cholesterin.
- 1 beetroot
- 1-2 carrots
- 3-4 potatoes
- 2 bulb onions
- 1 pickled cucumber
- 500 g (1,1 lb) calamari
- 3-4 tbsp vegetable oil
- black ground pepper – to taste
- spring onions – to taste
- salt – to taste
Wash calamari and peel them. Place the calamari in boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes. Do not overcook, in other case they will become tough. Cool and slice the calamari.
Boil potatoes, carrots and a beetroot. Cool, peel and dice the vegetables. Cube a pickled cucumber. Peel and chop bulb onions.
Toss all the prepared ingredients together. Season them with salt and pepper. Dress the salad with vegetable oil and stir everything properly. Top the dish with finely cut spring onions.
