Baked bacon

One of most popular and favorite Ukrainian appetizers is bacon. We share the recipe of savoury and crispy bacon baked in an oven.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg (2,2 lb) bacon
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbps ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp black ground pepper
  • 1 tsp bay leaf
  • 1 garlic bulb

Cooking

Peel a garlic bulb and squeeze the garlic. Combine salt, coriander, pepper, bay leaf, and the garlic. Mix the ingredients well. Cut bacon into slices. Rub each bacon slice with the prepared mixture properly. Roll the meat and fix with the help of a thread. Set aside the bacon for 2-3 hours.

Place the bacon on a baking sheet, cover it with foil, and bake in an oven at 200°C (392°F) for 40-50 minutes. In 10 minutes before the end of baking time remove the foil and let the bacon brown. After cool the meat a little and serve it.
